Say It Loud! is a spoken word training program for students at Casco Bay High School in Portland. The young people will present poems about finding their authentic voice, changing their lives for the better, and heartfelt experiences with others. |
At the close of the evening, everyone will have the opportunity to dance when Maine’s premier reggae band,Stream Reggae takes the stage. Stream Reggae has been playing in New England for seven years and is best known for their newly released Mission of Love CD. |
Portland Playback Theatre Company will open the evening’s entertainment by asking volunteers from the audience to share their stories, and through improvisation, offer an immediate enactment. In keeping with the evening’s theme, the actors will solicit tales of “Victories over Violence.” |

Our goal for this year’s event is to reach a wide audience of all ages, incomes and backgrounds who love the arts and will enjoy an evening of theater, music, food, raffles, and door prizes. Family Crisis Services will also take the opportunity to share information about our services and to raise awareness about domestic violence as it affects our communities. With this ambition in mind, an eclectic event has been planned that promises to deliver a memorable evening for all.
